Starting with OneDrive is easy, but it isn't without its quirks in our environment. Follow this document to avoid confusion. 

It might be a good idea to check Windows Explorer and see if you already have OneDrive set up. If you open Windows Explorer (Click Start, then Computer) and see if you find a folder called "OneDrive – Colonial Williamsburg Foundation" on the far-left side. If so, you already have it set up. Otherwise continue reading. 

Start the OneDrive application on your computer, but beware there could be two. One of them was installed as a part of the Microsoft Office suite and the other would have been independently installed. In the example below, the top one is the correct one. However, depending on which version of Windows you run on your computer, these icons could look different.   

The good way to determine which to use would be by clicking one at a time to open them. If you see this screen, it's the wrong one, and you should cancel it:

If you see this screen, it is the correct one and you should follow the prompts:

Enter your email address and click Sign in. That's it!

Other Tips

  • You may access your OneDrive folder from anywhere at Office.com or OneDrive.com.
  • You may install the OneDrive app on your smartphone.
  • If you use the Outlook App on your smartphone, OneDrive folders and files are available within it, making it convenient to save or attach files to emails.
