Employees are automatically added to the Employee Directory within 24 hours after HR finalizes the information in their system. However, contractors and volunteers must be added manually by the CW employee who acts as their supervisor. Anyone with an existing direct report can add a contractor or volunteer. If you are not currently a supervisor or do not have anyone that reports directly to you, please have your supervisor add the volunteer or contractor and have them select you to be the volunteer's or contractor's supervisor. You will then receive a task to "approve" the new volunteer/contractor. Once you approve, you will have the My Employees tab. 

Step-by-step guide

  1. In your web browser, visit the Employee Directory (http://employeedirectory/) and click the My Employees tab. Then click Contractors or Volunteers, depending on the classification of the person you want to add. The rest of this guide will be for a volunteer but the same instructions apply to add a contractor. 



  2. You will see a grid containing your current volunteers, if any. Click the Add New Volunteer button.



  3. Fill in all the required information and click Add. *Note: the Volunteer Number is the identification number given by HR.



  4. The new volunteer will be added to your list. You'll see a message indicating that necessary tasks have been created. For example, a task gets created to update the extension in the phone system so that it is associated with the new volunteer. If you selected someone other than yourself as the CW Supervisor, that person will get a task to approve. 


Computer accounts are not automatically created for Contractors or Volunteers. If the new Contractor or Volunteer needs a computer account then click on the System Access link and submit a request for "-CWF Computer Account"
