Mapping to a network drive is creating a connection to a new drive on your computer to access its contents

Step-by-step guide
On the Start menu, click Computer.
Open the File Explorer and click on This PC
2. In the next window, click Map Network Drive.
Click on Map network drive at the top.
3. Select a drive letter except reserved letters U or V. In the Folder box, type the path to the server, for example \\servername.cit.cornell.edu\foldername or \\myserver.mydomain.cornell.edu\e$.

4. Click Check "Reconnect at Logon", which will ensure this mapped drive recreates itself each time you reboot. Do not check ", and then click lick .

5. In the User name box, type your login name for the domain. (The domain will be different for different servers. It may be displayed under the Password box. If you're unsure of the domain, contact your local technical support
provider.)
6. In the Password box, type your password for the domain, and then click .
5. You can also browse the different folders in the "share" by typing in the network share and clicking Browse.
In the future, when you want to connect to this server, the mapped drive should be available. On the menu, click . In the next window, click the server.
- Open Finder
- Open Go>Connect to Server
- Type: smb:// and the folder that you would like to open
- If you are logged in using a local account you will need to enter your CW credentials (the same as your email password)
- If you are unsure of the exact link you can open the root folder and browse from there.
- After you connect to the folder you want you may want to add it to your "Favorites" for next time by clicking the + next to the server address
